Equipment Hire Policy
This equipment hire policy was reviewed and updated on (06/08/24) and is next to be reviewed on the (06/8/25)
The hirer agrees to the following when hiring from Speedyslighting:
1. HIRE LENGTH: The hire will start on the (begin date) and will end on the (end date) that the hirer chooses, the hirer will receive the hired equipment on the day of the start date and is expected to return the equipment on the day of the end date.
2. HIRE PAYMENTS: The hirer agrees to pay full amount with in the allocated time as stated on the invoice and pays SL. If payment isn’t paid by end date stated on the invoice the hirer will receive an email/phone call reminding about the payment. If payment still haven’t been made by 5 days of the reminder extra will be added to the invoice and will be resent to hirer.
3. LATE CHARGES: If a late charge is needed the hirer will get sent the same invoice but with the extra amount added on top of the total charge and will be expected to pay within 24hrs of receiving the invoice.
4. DEPOSIT: On higher value hirers a deposit of a set percentage set by SL may be requested prior to collection of equipment.
5. DELIVERY: If the hirer choices to have the equipment delivered to them a delivery charge would be added to the invoice. 48hrs prior to the equipment going out on hire the hirer will receive a email checking that the delivery address is still correct.
6. HANDING OVER EQUIPMENT: Hirers shall be entitled to possession to the equipment on the first day of the Hire date. At the end of the hire date the hirer shall hand back the hired Equipment to SL by delivering or SL will come and collect the equipment. The hirer will hand back the equipment in good condition and in working order, ordinary wear and tear excepted as usual.
7. USE OF EQUIPMENT: The hirer shall only use the equipment in a careful and proper manner and will comply with rules and regulations. Hires have the responsibility of storing the equipment if it’s not in use before the end of the hired date.
8. CONDITION OF EQUIPMENT AND REPAIR: The hirer has inspected the equipment and acknowledges that the equipment is in good and acceptable condition before handing back to SL. If the equipment malfunctions or id damaged during the hire period the hirer must inform SL before the end of the hire period.
9. MAINTENANCE, DAMAGE AND LOSS: Speedyslighting will at our own expense, keep and maintain the Equipment clean and in good working order. If a piece of equipment requires repair beyond general maintenance after a hire a repair fee may be charged at a rate set by SL. In the event the equipment is lost or damaged beyond repair the hirer shall pay SL the full replacement cost of the Equipment.
10. INSURANCE: Speedyslighting shall be responsible to maintain insurance on the equipment with losses payable to SL against fire, theft, collision, and other such risks as are appropriate and specified by hirer. Upon request by hirer, SL shall provide proof of such insurance.
11. LESSORS REPRESENTATIONS: Lessor represents and warrants that he/she has the right to lease the equipment as provided in this agreement and that lessee shall be entitled to quietly hold and possess the equipment, and lessor will not interfere with that right if lessee pays the Rent in a timely manner and performs all other obligations under this agreement.
12. OWNERSHIP: The equipment is and shall remain the exclusive property of Speedyslighting.
